PTFE Teflon Products

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), also known by its trade name Teflon, is a synthetic fluoropolymer with many applications:

  • Nonstick coating: PTFE is commonly used as a nonstick coating for cookware.
  • Electrical insulator: PTFE is used as an insulator for wiring and cable, especially in computers.
  • Lubricant: PTFE can reduce friction between surfaces and protect against corrosive substances.
  • Piping and tubing: PTFE coating prevents fluid leakage in facilities that handle corrosive fluids.
  • Fabric and textile: PTFE is water repellent and can be used to make garments and shoe fabrics.
  • Aerospace and aviation: PTFE provides electrical insulation for aircraft and spacecraft.
  • Breathable hydrophobic membranes: PTFE fine powders are used to create breathable hydrophobic membranes.
  • Aerospace/automotive hoses: PTFE fine powders are used to create aerospace/automotive hoses.
  • High-performance wires and cables: PTFE fine powders are used to create high-performance wires and cables.

PTFE has unique properties, including:

  • Nonreactivity
  • Hydrophobicity
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Good insulating properties
  • High melting point
  • Resistance to wear
